Run for a Million
What does the TV series Yellowstone have to do with Standlee Premium Western Forage® and reining your way to a purse of One Million Dollars?
Actually, quite a bit! Taylor Sheridan the Academy-Award nominee and co-creator of the highly acclaimed television series Yellowstone is passionate about the equine industry and the demanding sport of reining. Sheridan funneled his passion and creativity into developing a platform that focuses on the expertise and talent of both equines and riders in one of the most challenging sports in the industry.
Sheridan partnered with Amanda Brumley, with Brumley Management Group to create the richest event in reining history called The Run For A Million. This one-of-a-kind event will introduce reining to a new audience of millions, while highlighting some of the most prolific professionals and amateurs in the industry.
This series of events offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for 9 Top Reining Professionals and 3 Wild Card Professionals, to compete for a purse totaling $1,000,000. In addition to the MILLION DOLLAR INVITATIONAL, there is a $100,000 Shoot Out, $50,000 Invitational Freestyle, $50,000 Non-Pro Championship and Rookie Championship.
Standlee Premium Western Forage® is a proud sponsor of this event as we know the demand of this sport is connected to premium nutrition.
Tom and Daphne Foran assist with all aspects of rider and equine training, and through their work they have developed a deep understanding of the importance of feeding quality through Standlee Premium Western Forage products. Specifically, in Yellowstone, Tom worked as part of the cast as well as a technical advisor who handled the horse work, taught the cast how to ride, and cared for Taylor Sheridan’s personal horses. In THE LAST COWBOY, Tom is scheduled to MC the Million Dollar finale in Vegas with Taylor Sheridan.
"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to say a few words about Standlee and their products. I've feed their compressed hay, pellets, and cubes for some time and it's become a very important part of my training operation. For many years, like so many pro operations, I fed regular alfalfa hay as my staple.
The problems with this program were: 1) the consistency in the nutritional content of the actual product varied greatly. It was never tested so I was not exactly sure if my horses were getting the nutrition they needed; and 2) There was a lot of waste. I can't imagine the amount of money I burned through the years on hay that was trampled, fell apart, got left in barn aisles, or was ruined because of moisture.
Standlee has fixed these issues. I know exactly what my horses are ingesting nutritionally and there is very little waste. The bags are easy to store and maintain as are the compressed bails. Another huge benefit I've noticed using their products is, the transportation of feed for my horses has become easy. I bring a lot from home to the shows and events, but if I run out, I can always get the exact same thing my horses are used to eating from a distributor on the road. No longer do my show horses suffer from an upset stomach at a show because I had to switch their feed on them. This has been a huge advantage and one I am very thankful to have. I can't say enough great things about their product. My horses look great. They all carry a lot of bloom. Their hair coats are shiny and their conditioning is awesome. Even the "hard keepers" have been doing great on Standlee. I'm very thankful for the program we've established with this great company!"
