Developed by a renowned Ph.D. Equine Nutritionist, Standlee Forage Plus Gastric Support is an alfalfa-based forage designed to assist in the restoration of damaged digestive tissue and the promotion of hind gut health.
This highly palatable forage option is carefully crafted with low levels of sugar and starch without any added grain. The addition of marine-derived calcium, ButiPearl Z EQ, and a proprietary pre and pro-biotic (GI Pro3) is the ideal recommendation for horses dealing with digestive sensitivities or heightened stress, such as trailering and competition to help address digestive issues and upsets effectively.

Standlee Forage Plus Gastric Support can replace a portion of the current forage (hay/pasture) source at a rate of 0.5 - 1% of body weight per day. For a 1,000 lb horse, this equates to replacing 5 - 10 lbs of forage/day with Gastric Support. Introduce Standlee Forage Plus Gastric Support gradually into your horse's diet over seven to fourteen (7-14) days.
Gastric Support should not be fed as the sole source of forage, but supplemental to long-stem hay to meet a total daily forage intake of 1.5-2.5% of a horse’s body weight.
Gastric Support can also be used as a pre- or post-stress snack to help minimize the potentially damaging effects of stress on the digestive system. We recommend feeding 1 to 2 lbs of Gastric Support for a 1,000 lb horse prior to a stress event such as trailering or exercise.

Forage is a natural agriculture product. Despite the use of modern processing equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign materials. Sort and remove foreign materials before feeding.
To maintain product quality and ensure safety, store product in a covered, cool, and well-ventilated environment out of the effects of the weather.
DISCARD ANY SOILED OR WET FORAGE IMMEDIATELY.
Equine gastric ulcers are a significant problem in certain equine populations: an estimated 58% of show horses and 93% or racehorses are affected. Foals are also at risk with an estimated 25-50% developing lesions. Horses that are typically fed diets high in soluble carbohydrates which produce volatile fatty acids when broken down in the stomach, can damage the protective barriers of the non-glandular areas allowing acid to irritate and ulcerate the tissue.
