Forage is the most important component of a horse’s diet and should be fed at a rate of 1.5-2.5% of a horse’s body weight. Introduce Standlee Forage Plus Gastric Support gradually into your horse’s diet over seven to fourteen (7-14) days, supplementing the forage and/or pasture with Gastric Support fed at a rate of 0.5 to 1% lb of body weight per day. (i.e., 6-12lbs /1200lb horse/day)
NEVER FEED MOLDY OR INSECT INFESTED FORAGE. ALWAYS PROVIDE FREE-ACCESS TO FRESH, CLEAN WATER.
To reduce the risk of rapid consumption that can lead to digestive upset and choke, pellets are recommended to be soaked (2 parts water to 1 part pellet) for a minimum of 30 minutes or until the forage is softened to a soup-like consistency. Weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse before soaking.

Forage is a natural agriculture product. Despite the use of modern processing equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign materials. Sort and remove foreign materials before feeding.
To maintain product quality and ensure safety, store product in a covered, cool, and well-ventilated environment out of the effects of the weather.
DISCARD ANY SOILED OR WET FORAGE IMMEDIATELY.
Equine gastric ulcers are a significant problem in certain equine populations: an estimated 58% of show horses and 93% or racehorses are affected. Foals are also at risk with an estimated 25-50% developing lesions. Horses that are typically fed diets high in soluble carbohydrates which produce volatile fatty acids when broken down in the stomach, can damage the protective barriers of the non-glandular areas allowing acid to irritate and ulcerate the tissue.
